One of our favourite summer treats is a leisurely stroll around someone else’s garden on a Sunday afternoon – especially if there’s tea and cake at the end of it! So we’re delighted that next Sunday, 12th May, Lizzie & Dave Puddifoot of Alverton Cottage will be opening their garden as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Lizzie & Dave are long-standing members of the Friends of Morrab Gardens, and we will be supporting their Open Day by with a plant stall selling a selection of plants raised by Morrab’s volunteers.
And because Alverton Cottage is close to Morrab Gardens – just a 15 minute stroll away through Penlee Park – we’ll make this a joint event by holding another of our plant sales in the nursery at Morrab Gardens. Information about the NGS Open Gardens will be available from Morrab Gardens, along with directions to get to Alverton Cottage.
The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England and Wales, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.
