The outdoor classroom in Morrab Gardens

Morrab Gardens has an outdoor classroom, created with assistance from Cornwall Councillor Jim McKenna's Community Fund. Tree surgeon, sculptor and rustic furniture-maker Aldous George donated and installed the BFG's chair.
The chair will be user by group leaders, teachers and story-tellers – but here three of our young visitors try it out for size!

We are happy to arrange visits of school groups to Morrab Gardens and last year, with support from Councillor Jim McKenna’s community fund, the Friends of Morrab Gardens established an ‘outdoor classroom’ to provide a safe place where teachers can bring their classes.    The children love the seating made from logs – just the thing for a classroom surrounded by trees!

Rustic Chair donated

Recently we acquired a new piece of furniture for the classroom – a rustic chair made, donated and installed by tree surgeon and sculptor Aldous George.

The chair will be user by group leaders, teachers and story-tellers – but here three of our young visitors try it out for size!

Visit by pupils from Pensans CP School

Early in the Autumn term we had visits from several groups of pupils from Pensans Community Primary School.  The children were taken on a guided tour of the Gardens by Joe Palmese, our Head Gardener, and were fascinated by some of the mini beasts and unusual plants they saw.

Always something interesting to see in Morrab Gardens!
