We’re now all aware of the importance of bees in pollinating the plants we enjoy seeing in our gardens and depend on for food. At Morrab Gardens we’ve had the perfect partnership with local beekeeper Andrew Beard for many years – our flowering plants provide the nectar his bees need to make honey, and his bees help to pollinate many of our plants.
We’ve asked Andrew to come along this Saturday to meet members of the Friends of Morrab Gardens, to talk to us about the work of a beekeeper, and to sell some of the delicious honey that his bees make – with nectar from Morrab’s flowers!
Andrew’s talk will be in the Morrab Library on Saturday 15th September, from 10am to 11:30am. Tea, coffee and home-made cakes will be served. Admission is free, donations to Friends of Morrab Gardens welcome!
